The safety of all the employees is a top priority of the Management. MPMR will take every necessary measure to provide a safe and secure working environment for all the staff. The safety instructions given below should strictly be followed by everyone working in the production area. It is the responsibility of all production department supervisors to ensure that their staff thoroughly understand and strictly follow these safety rules.

Furnace - Melting Department Safety Instructions:

  • * Use the personal protective clothes provided by the company such as Overall, safety shoes and gloves.
  • * Use the helmet or glass and heat-resistant gloves at all times during any melting process.
  • * Wash hands frequently.
  • * To prevent accidental ingestion, refrain from eating, drinking or smoking inside the foundry area.
  • * Ensure that fire fighting equipment is kept handy and in working condition.
  • * Only the foreman is allowed to operate the furnaces. He is responsible for melting and casting the precious metals. Trainees can do these jobs only under his direct supervision.
  • * In case of fire, do the following:
    •        1. Notify relevant authorities immediately.
    •        2. Turn off all electrical devices that are in operation.
    •        3. Use available resources to deal with the situation, such as fire extinguishers and first aid kit, if need be.
    •        4. Secure any precious metals inside the refinery.
    •        5. Evacuate the premises.
  • * Only authorized personnel should be allowed into the Foundry area.


Refining Department Safety Instructions:

  • * Supervising Chemist should ensure that the refining system is in good working condition before commencing the refining process, especially the following:
    •        1. Acid Transfer System.
    •        2. Gas scrubber fans.
    •        3. pH and Water levels in the scrubber.
    •        4. Availability of Fire fighting equipment and First Aid Kit.
  • * Use the personal protective equipment provided by the company such as overall, safety shoes; and rubber gloves while handling chemical materials.
  • * Strictly use the safety mask & glasses to protect against volatile and airborne chemicals.
  • * Supervising Chemist must always be present when workers are handling any kind of chemicals.
  • * Wash hands frequently..

Laboratory Safety Instructions:

  • * Supervising Chemist should ensure that the exhaust system is in good working condition to avoid any problems caused by acid and lead fumes.
  • * Protective clothes, safety shoes, rubber gloves and if required gas mask must be used when handling acids and other chemicals.
  • * Fire gloves and protective glass should always be used while working on the cupellation furnace.
  • * Do not use mobile phones when working with the XRF or ICP.
  • * Refrain from eating, drinking or smoking inside the laboratory.
  • * In case of fire, do the following:
    •        1. Notify relevant authorities immediately.
    •        2. Turn off all electrical devices that are in operation.
    •        3. Use available resources to deal with the situation, such as fire extinguishers and first aid kit, if need be.
    •        4. Secure any precious metals inside the laboratory.
    •        5. Evacuate the premises.
    •        6. Only authorized personnel should be allowed into the laboratory.
